Jeff Hougland has suffered an unspecified injury and will not compete in a scheduled bantamweight contest against Mike Easton at Saturday’s UFC Live 6. Instead, Easton (Pictured) will lock horns with Octagon newcomer Byron Bloodworth, the promotion announced Tuesday.

Headlined by a bantamweight title tilt pitting champion Dominick Cruz against AMC Pankration product Demetrious Johnson, UFC Live 6 goes down Oct. 1 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Also featuring a heavyweight bout between Stefan Struve and Pat Barry, the event marks the UFC's inaugural trip to the nation’s capital.

Known as “The Hulk,” Easton last competed two years ago, earning a highly controversial five-round decision over Chase Beebe. A winner in his last five bouts, the once-beaten 27-year-old was bested for the only time in 2007, falling by technical knockout to Reynaldo Duarte. The Washington, D.C., native has finished half of his 10 career victims and holds three first-round stoppages to his credit. 

Like his foe, Bloodworth has only tasted defeat once as a professional, submitting to a Jon Queiroz rear-naked choke in January 2010. Since that loss, the North Carolinian has won three straight contests, most recently knocking out Scott Farhat with a knee on Aug. 26.
