This Saturday July 30th, two giants of mma, champions and former Pride top dogs meet inside the cage to battle for the very first time. Both have many credentials on their resume, have fought alongside each other for many years and are both huge names in the mma world. These huge mma profiles are Fedor "the last emperor" Emilianenko and  Dan "Hendo" Henderson and they have now agreed to meet in a heawyweight bout as Hendo doesn´t want it to be a catchweight!

 

It is not the first time Dan Henderson has fought heavyweight against a top opponent and has beaten Big Nog earlier in his career (Rings King of Kings -tourny semifinal on February 26, 2000), pulling out a split decision win. Fedor won the Pride Heavyweight on March 16, 2003 at Pride 25 (unanimous decision) and dethroned Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (aka: Big Nog) to become the champ. A few years later, Dan Henderson finally dethroned long lasting Pride champ Wanderlei Silva at Pride middleweight Championship February 24, 2007 (Pride 33).

 

And that´s just the main event! We have more potentially great fights on the same card, such as: Marloes Coenen vs Miesha Tate, Coenen being the champ and Tate reacently coming off a win in women's welterweight (135lbs) tourny.

 

Hard hitting Robbie Lawler (18-7 + 1NC) vs US army active Tim Kennedy (13-3), Brit striker Paul Daley vs unbeaten Tyron Woodley (8-0-0), veteran Scott Smith (17-7 + 1NC) vs Team Quest fighter Tarec Saffiedine (10-3), Brazilian vet JZ Calvacante (15-4-1 2NC) vs Bobby Green (15-4) who is looking to pull out a win when entering his first SF event.
