News: UFC 134: Rio Sells Out in Little More than an Hour

There are more than two months left until UFC 134: Rio takes place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but the event can already be called an unabashed success.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials on Saturday issued a statement saying that the event sold out in just one hour and 14 minutes after tickets went on sale. UFC president Dana White on Thursday had stated that there were 16,752 tickets available at the HSBC Arena.
UFC 134 marks the first time the promotion has operated in Brazil since UFC Ultimate Brazil in Sao Paolo in 1998. Ultimate Brazil featured the likes of Frank Shamrock and Pat Miletich defending their UFC titles, as well as the classic showdown between Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort.
None of those fighters will grace the UFC 134 fight card, though several Brazilians will be featured on their home turf. The main event pits UFC middleweight champion and Brazilian Anderson Silva against Japanese fighter Yushin Okami. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, also Brazilians, will be featured on the card as well. Shogun rematches Forrest Griffin, while Nogueira faces rising heavyweight contender Brendan Schaub.

I do saint, want Yushin to win!
If he canīt, then I donīt care either.
Damn Silva to hide in 185 when 205 is where he should be at now imo. Many Silva fans complain about GSP not be able to decide and move up alread, funny thing imo since Silva is more of a 205 then GSP is 185 no doubt?? No more of this, let the guy try Bones now and give us hell of a fight!

It is much more strategically sound to have an event in Brazil than to have one in the UK or the Eurozone. That's why this is such a killer card. UK never had a title fight, and Brazil on its first UFC in 10 years is getting this stacked beast. Timezones baby, this fight will be live in states at 6pm PST and not butt fuck 4 in the morning. So with this quick sellout expect a lot more shows from Brazil.

Okami vs Silva

Anderson Silva vs Okami 1 Rumble at the Rock torrent
Okami would not have won without Anderson's illegal strike. They don't need to fight again. They've both gotten better but one fighter is Anderson Silva. Anderson is just gonna destroy Okami.
Probably still watch with a bell on though. Wear one of them plastic tarps so the blood from the monitor doesn't get on my clean clothes.
Main event just sounds like a Dubai incident again (turk)& i will not get my hopes up.

You are gonna eat those words my friend. First of all you never know whats going to happen in a fight, and before the illegal upkick Okami was in a dominant position, Anderson was in his world. What would have happened had Silva not used that illegal strike? We will never know. And even though I personally think Silva would have pulled it out at the end. The one thing I learned about MMA in the 15 years I have been following the sport is that you never fucking know whats going to happen.
As for the second part.

I will agree that their second fight will resemble the first one, where Silva danced around Okami and peppered him with strikes until Okami got fed up and started bull rushing Silva getting him up against the fence and ultimately getting the takedown. It was about halfway through the first round when Okami took Anderson down, so if Okami was able to keep him down then that round could have gone to Okami. But that's just conjecture.
What I predict will happen in the rematch is Anderson having the advantage on the feet, but Okami being one of the best Japanese wrestlers and having a strength advantage with a really hard head will allow Okami to do to Anderson what Chael Sonnen did to Anderson. Wrestling is Anderson's weakness and Okami will exploit that. Win or lose Silva wont come out of this rematch unscathed.

I hope so destructor, and absolutely do I agree with you as well, you never do know how a fight will go down cause there is just to many variables. One can have an ide but itīs not always it plays out like one thought.
If Okami goes in there in top shape believing in him self this could very well become a war.. Though if both man wants to just stand there and counterstrike it could pherhaps be another Silva vs Maia, with the difference that the crowd might not bue Silva in Rio even if he refuses to engage.
Horrible thought!
Dubai all over again sound horrible saint!
