After weeks of debate, rumor, and speculation… “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 14 has found its two coaches. The early candidates for the next season of the popular and long-running ufc reality TV show were the brash Brit Michael Bisping and former UFC Middleweight Championship challenger Chael Sonnen. But due to Sonnen’s many, many legal and professional woes, that’s not going to happen. Instead, Michael Bisping will return to coaching TUF again… but he’ll do it against Jason Miller, a highly controversial and very charismatic goofball that made major waves when he jumped ship to the UFC from Strikeforce. Here are all the details.

The news hit several sources around the internet during the last several days, and as expected, MMA Junkie recently confirmed that Miller’s coaching duties has caused him to pull out of his upcoming scheduled fight with Aaron Simpson, which was supposed to be going down at UFC 132.

Jason “Mayhem” Miller is recognized by the general public as the host of MTV’s “Bully Beatdown” show. Miller’s wise-cracking and spastic attitude have earned him an equal amount of fierce supporters as well as fiery cynics. Miller also became one of the chief participants of the darkest moment in Strikeforce history: the infamous “Nashville” post-fight brawl that was seen on national television.

Inside the cage, Miller is a veteran of over thirty fights and holds a commandingly positive record of 24-7 with one No Contest. Miller is a former ICON Sport Middleweight Champion, a Superbrawl Welterweight Champion, and a UFC and Strikeforce veteran. Miller has twenty of his twenty-four wins by stoppage, with six (T)KO’s and fourteen submissions. Miller is currently on a two-fight win-streak.

The man he’ll be coaching opposite of, Michael Bisping, is widely regarded as a very controversial, very notorious Middleweight fighter. Bisping was an integral part of the UFC’s explosive expansion into the UK, and to this day he’s mostly adored by his fellow Brits while a substantial piece of the larger MMA fanbase revile him as a cocky trash-talker. Bisping is currently on a three-fight win-streak and coming off of a very, very controversial performance against Jorge Rivera. After weeks of Rivera tearing Bisping a new one in a series of hilarious viral videos, Bisping struck Rivera with an illegal knee that many say should have resulted in a disqualification. Bisping later won the fight by second-round TKO.

I think this is going to be a crazy, crazy season of “The Ultimate Fighter”. So long as the fight quality matches the drama, this could also be one of the best seasons in recent TUF history. Even better, Season 14 is supposed to feature Bantamweight and Featherweight fighters, and I’ve been campaigning for a lighter-weight season of TUF for a long, long, long time.

And it gets even better: it’s now more or less confirmed that the “fight to get into the house” rule will become permanent in all seasons of TUF moving forward. I think that’s a great way to eliminate everyone except the best fighters. All in all, TUF Season 14 has a ridiculous amount of potential and I can’t wait to see what happens.
