News: Mac Danzig meets Efrain Escudero at UFC 145 in Montreal

Mac Danzig (20-9 MMA, 4-5 UFC) today revealed his next booking, a UFC 145 matchup with Efrain Escudero (18-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC).

"Just signed to fight in March," Danzig posted on Twitter. "Opponent is tough as hell, but they all are. Efrain Escuerdo, March 24, Montreal."

UFC 145 takes place March 24 at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. UFC executives later confirmed the Danzig vs. Escudero matchup, which likely takes place on the evening's preliminary card.

Danzig looks to rebound from an October loss to Matt Wiman at UFC on Versus 6. The rematch of a controversial UFC 115 contest, in which Wiman was incorrectly awarded a technical-submission victory, saw Danzig drop a unanimous decision result. However, the bout did earn both men the evening's "Fight of the Night" bonus.

While Danzig's current octagon record is below .500, he is 2-2 in his past four bouts, including the controversial stoppage loss.

Meanwhile, Escudero returns to action after suffering a unanimous-decision loss to Jacob Volkmann at December's UFC 141 event. Escudero, the winner of the eighth season of "The Ultimate Fighter," was a late-notice replacement for an injured T.J. Grant and now looks for his first octagon win since he was released from the promotion in 2010.

Escudero is now 5-2 in his past seven outings.

usually the winner of TUF should be decent, but these two.. oh boy.
