Steve Knight enters his 17th season as Excel Wrestling Head Coach and Executive Director. He now heads up the new Iowa Excel Junior Olympic Program in the Greater Des Moines area. Knight has served on the US Olympic Coaching staff, as well as coaching on both US World Cup and Pan Am teams. He has coached in two World Championships and been a member of the US National Teams staff for over a decade working with athletes at the US Olympic Training Center. Steve was a US Pan American Gold Medalist, Iowa State NCAA All American, Big 12 Champion and several time National Freestyle All American. He and his family resides in Urbandale, IA.
